Day 136 “Canada Day”

Canada Day!
Canada Day!

I am sitting in a rest area in New York and I am exhausted. I started the morning at a rest area about 65 miles outside of Toronto.  I crossed the border at exactly midnight and found the rest area about 1 a.m.  I got up about 8 in the morning, drove towards the city, found a Starbucks and worked on my “Grounds Crew” story.  At about 10 a.m. I decided to find the Stadium. I was shocked at how many people were already at the game.  I was also wondering why the roadways weren’t very busy as I was driving in. Well, I felt like a fool when I inquired as to why everyone showed up for a game at 1 p.m. on a Tuesday (it was a sell out).  It is Canada Day! It is like the 4th of July in the United States.

Anyway the place was packed and I just decided to “Geek the Game”.  After the game it took two hours to get out of the parking garage and get back on the road. I drove about three hours to this rest area.  I am heading towards Utica, New York for a game tomorrow.  I hope to have my “Grounds Crew” post done tomorrow.  I hope that it turns out to be interesting for all the hype and time I have put into it.  I have so much I can write about my Canadian experience, also. Sorry I haven’t been able to get a decent story posted the last couple of days.  That is it for today!
